5 Star Hotel Vs AirBNB

On what do I choose? I was recently asked this question? My reply, what is important to you? How intimate do you want to get with the location your staying in.

There are several things to be aware of when traveling.

  1. Know where you are traveling to and why?
  2. When you know what you want to see stick to your itenary. Although locals may tempt you to walk off and do your own thing, not travel agencies do not recommend this for safety reasons.
  3. Do your homework , or research. Know what cities State, countries your visiting and for what reasons. Check their visitors website for things to visit.

Now what is the difference between a five star hotel and an air BNB.
Ask yourself; Do you like to float or be on solid ground? It's a lifestyle choice. Are you adventurous or not? Are you about meeting people or not? High risk taker or low risk taker?

  1. Most likely an air BNB is a owned and operated by the people who own the property. They may allow you to use their kitchen and grounds, they may not. Sometimes it is part of the house like a bedroom you rent out.
  2. Hotels 5 star hotels have their grounds well out mapped out. They usually have security on the property. The rooms are designed for the purpose of renting for a night or two or more.
  3. The airBNB might have been a residential estate and the owners decided to rent the rooms out when they need money.
  4. 5 Star Hotels have specific amenities. They provide a professional concierge who can help you with any or all travel arrangements. They know people who will help the days travel made easy, comfortable and safe.

Whatever, one chooses the goal is always to travel and return safely. Be sure to check with a reputable travel agency. There is now a magazine named Airbnb for those that prefer this way of travel. It's pretty interesting read and for this writer. I believe it's a lifestyle choice you'll have to make.

Cyber Security Check Up Time

Many things have changed in the world. Making sure you know the latest is important to business business Security and your personal overall safety.

Did you know that meeting and event planners have to know and understand many things one of them is cyber security and our security workshop is coming up therefore, I thought I'd share some security tips I've learned.

1. Have one credit card where all your on-line payments are billed to. Don't use that card for anything else. Don't link it to another accounts. This will help you know the minute a one hacks into your account.

2. Keep passwords in a safe place.

3. Unsure of someone, have to take a Taxi, Uber, Lift and your in a strange town. Photograph the car and Driver and email to a safe person. Most of the time these things are just fine. Incase your safe person has information and will act appreciately. Personal safety.

4. In Business for yourself? Make sure you have the appropriate software in your business location. Have the place inspection for anything that can carode your software or hardware. leaking roof, building electronics, entrance, security.

5. Have a safe place for all your paperwork. The important thing is that you have it backed up. If you have it backed up on memory cards or cd than make sure your computer can still operate the softwares. Otherwise you need a paper version.

That's it for my thoughts. As always personal safety matters. Like, subscribe, tell a friend. Disclaimer on contact page.

Burn Out!

Hi there,

I was looking for a new book to read. When it occurred to me, what I am experiencing when I saw a title of a book. The title was "Burn Out" . I love reading, sitting quiet and listening to music.

At that point I realized. Many people must feel the same thin. Work, family, elderly parents, neighbors,  friends, all want. Even a pizza isn't divided as much as I feel. "I'm more pieces than a pizza."  They all want a piece, money, times,  fed me, meet my needs, emotions and my business. Who takes care of me?

Here are a few coping skills I have added to my list of was to help me cope. Maybe they will help you.

  1. I am going through my phone and seeing which apps really help me be productive, which one done don't. Deleting the ones that don't. No offense to the app manufacturer it just doesn't work for me. Ex: coupon app the coupons are for buy one get one at a lower price. The truth is I'm single, I go out to eat. I either waste money going out to eat or food buying in bulk. The choice is mine to make. What is right for you isn't right for me.
  2. Music soothes even in the most difficult situations.
  3. Take time to plan what's important for the week, them  push the other things to next week.
  4. Plan time for self care. manicure, pedicure, massage, haircut, hairstyling, visit the doctor for your yearly checkup. Stay on top of what is important to you! What matters most!
  5. Knowing oneselve is important to ones mental health. No one should have mind control over you. I think it is Princess Kate who is bringing it to the attention of others how important mental health is. Reading someone mind is out. In the age of computer, one can look it up faster that another's thoughtless. Ride over.
I hope you enjoyed my "Burn Out" tip. Best of luck to you! Like, subscribe, tell a friend, read disclaimer on communication page.

Travel Well Tips for Flying

Hi there,

I know and understood that travel can become a day or days of packing your suitcase with all the items you'll need. It is about carry on luggage backpack or purse, backpack or briefcase. Do I have enough battery charges, cords, photo memory cards batteries. And the list goes on and on of all the things you'll need.

What you really need is to take care of yourself. All those things can be replaced. You can't. Here are some travel tips to start one or two days before traveling.

Before You Fly

Eat healthy. Eat lots of greens, vegetables, fruits and berries.  Drink beverages that will hydrate you. Make sure you have clean bowels before your flight. You know the cabin humidity is only at 2% where the average human needs it to be between 30 - 60%. Therefore, dehydration happens easily.

While you fly! Make sure not to drink coffee or alcoholic beverage they dehydrate. It is best to order beverages that hydrate over the dehydrate types.

"On longer trips dehydration leads to headache and weakening of the immune immunity system drink a cup or two of water per hour. Our experts say if the lips are smooth and the feet feel moist you have found your hydration sweet spot." (Smart Magazine)

Did you know that the airport is a germ warfare area. Therefore, one should look for vitamins and other items that will renourish the body. Consider taking vitamin C during your flight or before entering the airplane. Did you know "Gwyneth Paltrow takes 4 - 5 vitamin C's when she is seated in the plane so that by the time the plane trip is over she still feels energized." Smart Magazine I also would like you to consider a product name "Emergency" which helps build the immune system. Just click on the link and you can purchase from Amazon with my discount prices. I apologize the name of the product is Airborne.

Post Flight

Now that you have started these healthy patterns try to keep them going. I understand that during your trip there must have been all kinds of temptations. In the hours after landing it's important to continue to hydrate to eat healthy and get good sleep till the body adjust to the new time zone.

Employment Tips When Traveling

Hi there, Reader;

I often find that I am out of town in one assignment or another. Therefore, here are some danger stranger trips when traveling alone.

For this blog I was at a Starbucks. No one likes to sit at a hotel all alone. The advice came from travel experts interviewed.

1.  Make sure your safe by:
      a.  Know your travel routes.
      b.  Know what you will be doing and where you are going and if possible let those at home know your itenary.

2. In this case I had my blogging camera on and was sitting in a high traffic area close to the bathroom. Don't use public bathrooms except when absolutely a nessisity.

3. Now her is one that is a little perplexing. Travel with a small dog if possible. It was recommended by the airlines, however it is discouraged by hotels. The dog barks when your possibly in danger. However, it is a lot of work when traveling and honestly I'm not sure if recommend it.

4. More and more people are Skpe, live chat or call someone while they travel from one place to another. Even if it's. I'm leaving the hotel and visiting ?.  Does this work? what I can say is it creates a record of your actions should something happen.

There are other bloggers who write more detail about travel. Read their information.

The Images Of Others Do Not Have To Become Our Reality

Hi there, Reader;

I was doing one of the things I love the most, reading when I came across this image and thought. I can use this to make my reality know to others.

Sometimes in life we are forced into someone's reality. It might be because you have to take care of an aging parent, or your sister is ill and can't deal with her reality, so finances hits you in an unexpected way, because what you and your husband had plan won't happen due to reposibilty you didn't expect. Whatever, the reason. Here are somethings to keep you focused on truth.

1. There, reality doesn't have to be your truth. Stick with your truth.  What was your truth from childhood is still your truth today. You just have more.life experience. Meaning if you prayed, meditated, contemplated, you can still do that today.

2. Doing the right thing isn't a ways the easiest thing. Sometimes, it hurts your name and reputation. It's something you don't need to examine to people.

3. Being true doesn't always look like it.

4. Plan the best you can for the future, it won't always be what His best is, however as they say, to thine own self be true.

5. Stick with what you know, meaning let your yes be yes and your no be no. Trust, your truth, let Go and Let God.

6. You have a future. A Hope.

When Life Steals Your Shoes!

Hi there, Reader;

Have you ever been around the water color at work, talking to co-workers, enjoying the moment? In that blink of an eye you catch a glimpse of a woman shoe you like. Boom, without thinking you complete her. Suddenly, your the bitch that covers the other woman's life and out comes a cat fight.

I have to tell you it is always assumed we what what the other woman has. How does one overcome and stay employeed? Honestly, I don't know, I'm unemployed so to speak. Just joking. I would venture to say when a cat fight breaks out amongst woman a dog wanted to be enteretained.

Seriously, here are a few Coping Skills. I am assuming your standing there watching it all and don't want to get involved.

1. Don't make any comments on the subject. Agreeing with either side is taking a side.

2. Make an excuse.and go back to your work place responsibilities.

3. Buy a cute pair of shoes for yourself and sees who comments on them.

4. Be bold and your opinion and then get ready to stand your ground.

5. Play it cool. At like it's no big deal and go about your business.

6. If you know who the dog is...go talk with that person and see if you can get a. Promotion, b. Pay Increase, C. A letter of recommendation for a new employment (only when you know it's going to get ugly.)

7. My though is cat fights are never beautiful and in the workplace you are always responsible for your behavior not the behavior of others. Be your best self. Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be Yourself!

Three

Three
Hi there, Reader;

Have you thought about three. In business we talk, talk, talk about the things we want to do. However, there are those doing it. Bigger and better than we could ever imagine.

Three such a simple number. Numbers the infinite possibilities of things that can happen. I believe that there is a truth to three, that no man can truly understand, yet all man covet.

The wiki dictionary had definitions of three. From religion to philosophical. Such profound things escape me. I am on the more realistic of thoughts. On the practical. In business your word should be truth. At least in my business. It's on the contract.

The philosophy of meeting and event planning in it's simplest form is. This like the English language always has the following.

1. Beginning: You have to meet with the clients. Discuss what they want, what they need, and what they are willing to pay for. This might take one meeting, it might take two meetings, either way it is the moment when people come together to discuss the needs of what they want.

2. Middlle:  When you are planning the event. It doesn't matter if it is your meeting, your wedding, your event. It is the day to day planning when things are refined. Discussed, planned, refined, produced and implemented. This is the process were contracts sometimes get altered, due to the changes. This is where the event planner has the right has the right to change the budget you originally discuses because you want more than planned. You want flowers that cost more. Venue that wants more, reception linen that came with the venue wasn't good enough so you want to change it. You want a bitter and bigger music it went from dj to live band. The photographer changed from uncle sam to a professional photographer. The tears from the bride can no longer be taken from friends and family hearing her say..."This is my wedding. I have been waiting for this all my life." The business person things..."This is my event, I have been thinking about this for 6 months, I thought of this a year ago." What is the reality...in a year lots of things change. Pricing changes and last years trends may not be today's. Are you into the trend or into what it will bring when its over. Either way it comes with a cost.

3. End:  The final result from the event, meeting or wedding. What your guest see, feel, think. How they interact with you as a person. What name and reputation you build.

The reality is three. The symbol for many things. The remembrance of sacrifices made and a life that is sometimes created from an event to be remembered in the life of the person for life. Knowing the difference between life and reality. Truth and false and that in business it is best to have truth. What is truth?

Poison Apple What Color is Yours?

Hi there,

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess she was fairer than any other. Her skin was as white as snow and her cheeks and lips as red as apple. She had one desire to meet and marry the prince of her dreams. Life isn't that easy, God gave her a mother that wasn't exactly happy with her choice. He was a brother from another mother. This lead her mother to try to make her not marry her prince. You see her mother had ideas of what her prince should look like. He didn't match her image of what he needed to be. Nor was he interested in her. All the other men she had brought home, flattered her and told her how beautiful she was. This young man had the ability to ignore her desires.

One day the mother tempted the prince by talking about the question of does size matter. This temptation was to lore the prince into the mothers chambers so the prince would not marry her daughter. The prince decided to ask the princess the question if it mattered to her then he would not marry her. The prince and princess were sitting on the porch of her house in the late afternoon, when the mother said to the princess. Tell that ugly guy to go home, the size is showing and it matters. "Don't touch him...what have you to been doing? I know you're going to get pregnant! I just know it." The daughter confused looked and the mom and said, what are you talking about? We are sitting here talking. My foot is touching his leg and I am barefoot. He is just sitting there.

Time went on and they continued to talk. As they got to know each other they decided to continue the relationship. She was really enjoying meeting all the new friends. How well educated and polite they were. However, realized the family of this young man were very out spoken. They were allowed to speak to each other with boldness and truth. If they didn't like something they just got to say so, not pretend that it was still good when it wasn't. The girl decided that was really comforting to her. She knew that when they said something they meant it. And when they said they would do something they meant it. This made them trust them even more. Sometimes their words hurt her feelings, she was raised with a mother all about feelings and little about action or truth. This she didn't understand or was able to control in her youth, she knew she hated it because she watch her dad, get physically beat up from it.

Anyway there where out and about one day when the your man asked her, "Does size really matter?" "What do you mean?", she asked If I don't make enough money to support us, would that matter?  What if we don't have a big house? Would that matter? If there is love, non of these things matter. I will go to work to help earn the money, if you can not support us. We can live together in a small house if we can not afford a large one. No size doesn't matter. This conversation took place after they both knew they loved each other. To this day she remembers this conversation knowing that that day she committed her heart to him like no other.

They young man had to graduate from college. They would continue for two years without dating. Rides home from school. Conversations on the porch, finally when she fully trusted that he was on her side she allowed him to date her. The temptations of the poison apple began. First it was little things like who was he going to talk to, when she was getting ready. Would he respect the dad? Would he respect the mom? How much does he love parent? God? Country? Would he fight for her honor? Would he feed her cloth her when she is sick? Ill?  How would he provide for her? Little by little each question was answered. Not once did he show any signs of wanting the apple. There is only one time that she recalls he failed in front of her. The question then was how could she prove it. There was not enough proof, evidence  to say he had failed. He never failed with the poison apple. However, he was human and failed to see the importance of always standing by his girl in front of her girlfriends. The test continued only making them stronger as a couple.

He didn't brings gifts to her mother. He didn't falter her and tell her that she was more beautiful, younger, smarter than her daughter. He didn't disrespect her father. He knew just what to say. They decided to get married, he had passed every test put before him. Will you let her spiral down all by herself or will you be there to catch her?

Then came all the test of planning their wedding. How would she handle the test put before her. Would she stay quiet or talk back and give her opinion. Would she start crying? How is she with budgets? How is she in stressful situations? Will they get along? Would they fight with the family members? MONEY? GIFTS? BUDGETS? Others wants for her wedding? Would she wear her hair up or down? Would she be a "GOOD WIFE"? On and on like a carousel ride? Or is she drama? How strong is she? Questions? Questions? Questions?

Now the time when you both have to decide? What are your priorities? Will it be a house?Children? Expensive Wedding? Career? Money? Positions? Honeymoon? Church Wedding? Indoor or Outdoor Wedding? How tired? How many fights will the couple have before the wedding day?

Children? Expensive Wedding? Career? Money? Positions? Honeymoon? Church Wedding? Indoor or Outdoor Wedding? How tired are you? How many fights will the couple have before the wedding day? How many fights, during the reception, ceremony, honeymoon? will you stand the test of time? Sweetheart, Darling, Baby, Honey? Not tonight? Ice? Baby Ice?

How fun it is got get married and plan for the future. How real it is to life in the reality your decisions and planning make. What color apple is your temptation?

Be blessed. Call MK Pure Diamond Events to help you will all the details of your wedding day.
