5 Star Hotel Vs AirBNB

On what do I choose? I was recently asked this question? My reply, what is important to you? How intimate do you want to get with the location your staying in.

There are several things to be aware of when traveling.

  1. Know where you are traveling to and why?
  2. When you know what you want to see stick to your itenary. Although locals may tempt you to walk off and do your own thing, not travel agencies do not recommend this for safety reasons.
  3. Do your homework , or research. Know what cities State, countries your visiting and for what reasons. Check their visitors website for things to visit.

Now what is the difference between a five star hotel and an air BNB.
Ask yourself; Do you like to float or be on solid ground? It's a lifestyle choice. Are you adventurous or not? Are you about meeting people or not? High risk taker or low risk taker?

  1. Most likely an air BNB is a owned and operated by the people who own the property. They may allow you to use their kitchen and grounds, they may not. Sometimes it is part of the house like a bedroom you rent out.
  2. Hotels 5 star hotels have their grounds well out mapped out. They usually have security on the property. The rooms are designed for the purpose of renting for a night or two or more.
  3. The airBNB might have been a residential estate and the owners decided to rent the rooms out when they need money.
  4. 5 Star Hotels have specific amenities. They provide a professional concierge who can help you with any or all travel arrangements. They know people who will help the days travel made easy, comfortable and safe.

Whatever, one chooses the goal is always to travel and return safely. Be sure to check with a reputable travel agency. There is now a magazine named Airbnb for those that prefer this way of travel. It's pretty interesting read and for this writer. I believe it's a lifestyle choice you'll have to make.

Good Caterer Cheap Caterer

Hi there,

What is a good topic for Business?  What is a business that hires and event planner to plan their event and wants cheap? This is one of my biggest frustrations! The corporation who wants us to recommend their service and then tells the person I have a contact with they can plan the event for cheaper. What is the difference?

The catering company usually plans the food. How do you know the difference between a good caterer and a cheap one? Here are a few tips.

1. The caterer normally provides the food for the event.

2. They will plate the food, unless you want it buffets style. Plated means the food is served on a plate prior to being served to the guest.

3. If the event is in an unusual place, off site. They must provide a kitchen with all ability to serve the food according to health standards. A health inspector can stop in at any time and see if it is to code.

4. Depending on the contract place settings and servers are an additional cost.

What is a cheap caterers.

1. They pre-cook the food and drop it off at the designated location.

2. They pay or may not provide a paper place setting these caterers must be asked questions of what all the catering includes. Beverage, Food, Deserts, Placesetting.

3. There is no monitoring of food at location by health services, the person who ordered the food is liable.

It is important to know the difference when your masking choices. It's best to take your time and do your research.

Either way I recommend one gets event insurance. Many times it can just be done by the company that know the venue. It's an add on policy for the day or dates of the event.

Hail Caesars

Hi there,

Pizza anyone only 5 dollar. Thats what the Menu says! How great t it is to live in the United States where we have so many freedoms. Freedom to Hail Caesars! I think there is really smart advertisers out there that come up with the perfect. Campaigns marketing, influences , 5 dollar! What does five dollar buy you? A pizza and a soda of choice plus a stomach that is fully satisfied.

Now, why would a meeting and event business be writing about a pizza place. Here is a story that's a little personal and a little business. It started when my children where young and I had to get my taxes done, be employed,  and still make dinner and maintain the every day needs of my family. As a single mom, life gets busy and it's easy to neglect those you love because you know they love you and will understand. Although we try not to do that it happens. The cries of hungry children isn't worth the wait imposed upon them. Therefore, I looked for creative ways to feed them. Keep them content. Allowing me to do what I had to do.

The truth is it is difficult to raise children, plan three meals a day, maintain a clean house, provide for the family, plan for college etc. Sounds crazy, right?
That's what I did. During the really busy times like tax season I would Hail Caesars. It's a deadline we had. Time crunch. Money crunch!

What better incentive then food to get your employees to turn in all their expense reports. You know we all have them. Even in a digital age where all you have to do is download and app to scan the lunch receipt or the car mileage. We still forget.

On those days when I had to much to do and too little time I would Hail Caesars that there was at least one business who understood the meaning of a dollar and the value of quick, fast product that would feed a family.  For five dollars I could feed my family. Put a DVD for them to watch and I would have 2.5 hours to work on my taxes.

What did I do next? I tried the same principle at work. I offered my employee a lunch - pizza if they would finish their paper work for taxes. I gave them a week to complete the task and it was done in a day. Today, the company has a lunch special that would take it to another level. An individual pizza and a soda for five dollars. I just purchase salad and additional drinks Costco cake for dessert. There is no battle that this one  at 7 slice and that employees ate eight. Each get a boxed lunch and drink of their own. Individually is so important. I love that they can have two choices cheese or pepperoni. Don't like that? Even vegetarian are stratified.

Many of the workplace battles, position for placement and power can be settled by making sure employees are well feed, feel taken care of. It is important that it is understood the people mean more than taxes however it is something required by our government and we must follow the laws of the state.

Happy 2018 filing your taxes in business or personally. Try my Hail Caesars method with your business and see if company moral doesn't go up.

Importannce of Love

Hi there,

I was trying to think of what my first blog of 2018 would be. I thought of many different business events or meetings I could write about or weddings. Who doesn't love hearing or reading about a wedding. Instead I will have it be about Valentine Day. Why this year? The is the year we all eight or is it spelled ate. I'm never quite sure. The year is 2018 get my humor?

Valentine:

Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is an annual holiday celebrated on February 14. Wikipedia

Why is it that we express our love for one another from the time we are children with cards and candy to adulthood with chocolate and flowers?

Now that we know the history. One can enjoy the commercialized part of all of this. Does one really have to give Valentine gift? The answer depends on many things. The relationship between people. The define relationship defines the appropriateness of the actions.

Happy Valentines Day!

As we grow older or intentions for each other changes. The exchange of gifts or cards no longer have the innocence of that child like quality. Therefore, since one doesn't want to be misunderstood one needs to follow the rules. Here are some safety rules.

1. Verify if the workplace acknowledges the holiday. Which holidays? Is it every year or just certain years they acknowledge it?

2. Find out what is appropriate. Can you give your secretary / co-workers a card, flowers or chocolates? Will it be misunderstanding?

3. The truth is in life we are all held accountable with our actions towards each other. What is friendship to one might be misunderstood as romance to another. What one thinks is a way of advancement in the workplace might be considered a workplace assault / sex advancement.

4. Like children workplace needs rules. It is important to understand and respect people's boundaries and limits. In the workplace and with co-workers. There are very strong laws written about appropriate behavior in the workplace. It is appropriate for the executives to send out a notice with what appropriate behavior is on this day. Also any other holiday.  The companies HR (Human Resources) department should have given you and had you sign a book with the company policy and rules. Therefore, just follow the rules. If you don't your personally responsible.

Fortunately, I have been blessed throughout my life in working for employers that believed in any excuse to acknowledge holidays. Therefore, it was always acceptable to show fellow workers that one appreciates them for who they are.

Depending on the holiday employees  would purchase small gifts for one another,(usually things we could use at workplace; food exchanges, card with a positive thought exchange. Sometimes just a candy. It was accepted and welcomed. Not all workplaces are the same. Therefore, make sure you understand yours.

Organic Blog Vs Non Organic

Hi there,

Have you ever wanted to be successful at something?

Do you desire to be thriving instead of surviving? Searching for food in places your not sure of? Told be grateful. You won't make any money at it. What is the difference?

Organic blogs and websites are not usually not paying for advertising. That does not mean they don't pay for their website. It means they want it to grow, what use to be called word of mouth advertising. You read my blog, enjoy it and tell a friend. Thats were social media comes it. From what I have been reading Pinterest has taken the lead with entrepreneurs and helping them to grow their businesses.
Facebook has fallen to number two. Where Instagram is starting to move up the ranks of its very loyal following. Their following is insistent that Instagram is what is helping them make money in business.

Like all these forms of organic advertising their are ways to make post that will yield you an increase in website views or blogging post. The completion between these social businesses means nothing but good news for bloggers and others who post on social. If a good quality photographs can send you customers. Why not?

It is learning what each social media requires and then posting accordingly. Why? It reaches people in places your advertising dollars can not reach. That's organic advertising. However, I'm told it takes longer. I believe that's what part of the learning curve.

Party Planning Apps

Hi there,

Thank You to Pixel for the Free Downloads

With so many choice what. Party planning app is the best? I wish I had an answer for you. I don't. It really is a personal choice. What I can tell you is I have some ideas of what might save you frome some frustration.

Invitation Apps

Here are two invitation Apps I do recommendations.

1. Evite it has allot to offer its users. Cute invitation designs plus RSVP tracking. Don't be fooled the last time I used it I noticed they had advertisers selling their goods and services. If your on a budget this is temptation you don't need.

2. Punch Bowl: is an invitation app and cards. It's pretty straight forward.

Here is what I can recommend if you want or need an app to help you plan.

1. Know what your needs are. Do you want a budget tracker? An invitation tracker? Just a general planner?

2. Are you going to be sending or posting photographs of your guest? Will you want a secure site for posting?

3. What will you be serving food? Menus Planner?

4. Will you need bartending or alcohol service? Security?

5. What about party rental calculator? Difference apps do different things you just have to know what your needs are.

Corporate Incentive #7

Hi there, Reader;

This one is one I think is rather something everyone enjoys. I'm not sure about you, however I know when I am employed and dealing with my family, their schedules and then mine. This would have greatly been appreciated from my employer had provided any of these food services as a gift.  i understand many people feel they pay you the money you should be able to afford the food service. Thanks not the point the point is that they are not your traditional items you would find in a grocery store. Some are in grocery stores, do you really have the time to prepare the items. Here is a list of some of my favorite items:

"Sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right, is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but he will eat you!" Ronald Regan

Deliver a Feast      Lobster Grams     800-366-3864

Treat Someone            Good things come in all kinds of packages   800-969-3500

Go Gourmet               Ariston has been crafting award winning      800-431-2127

Last however not least is a company that has been around for years.

Omaha Steaks            Omaha steaks has a wide variety of gourmet   800-228-2480

These are a few of the ones I think are worth an incentive gift. Then you know there is also the farm fresh fruit and vegetables. Plus the weekly and monthly grocery store deliveries available.

I think if we provide food for one another it would stop the hunger in the world. Then again who am I just a meeting and event planner.

Unemployment

Hi there, Reader;

As many of you know and understand since 2003 I have owned a meeting and Event company. However, since I'm a single mom, who has elderly people to watch over. Life isn't always easy.  This is not a woo is me blog or feel sorry for me it's my reality. This is the second time in this time that I have been unemployed. I have always had to have two employments and continue my education in the ever fast changing event world. As technology changes so does the way people interact with one another.

I am highly impressed with what unemployment is trying to do for its people. I know it sounds silly or ridiculous that I would be impressed with a government institutions with all that is happening in the world. What is talked about. The North County San Diego office is very good at helping it's people. From the little things like getting your resume online to making sure you recieve your card from Bank America to get paid. Here is what also expressed me, they cared enough to ask me since I was unemployed did I have enough to eat. More than my friends of many years have asked. When hard times hit, that's when one knows who a friend and who was just there for the good times. Good wife, right?

I hope you never have to experience what I have as a woman business owner. With technology being everywhere the world changed and it changed the lives of many. If your one of those who followed my family and I then you know some of our struggles. Like many Americans the reality of aging parents, teenagers, college students and the ever changing high expectations of self sufficientcy we place on our youth. It's nice to know, there are still a few agency were we can get assistance when we need it.

First you can get your computer skills checked by several agencies that will certify you for typing skills some are for a fee and some are free. Once certified you wil know which ones you qualify for. I'll write a list below.

Second : Are you hungry? Apply for what use to be food stamps is now called CalFresh. There are workshops you can attend every Monday.

Third: you have to establish identity. Citizensship and employment to recieve unemployment. US Passport or US Card. The list is lengthy.

Fourth: Register with North County Career Center for resume writing, employment search and motivation.

Fifth: iI also have a list of agencies you can contact if you need help.

Sixth: Apply for employment or to enhance your job search with www.caljobs.ca.gov.

I'll have all of this posted for you in the next day or so. Til then, get ready...the goal in life is to live a Happy, healthy, productive life.

Foodies Here is an Undiscovered Taste

Hi there, People.

As many of you know I cummute from San Diego to Riverside County a lot. My elderly mom and her husband need help and my child who use to help me with my business while my other child is in school. Is in heaven. It's not easy being who I am. However, I am great full for God's provision in my life. I live in two places while trying to support myself financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually. You know how it can be. Your in a crowd of people yet you feel alone. That's part of the natural feeling of loss, so is the choice of isolation. I'll get through. I have to. I have a future and hope.

Back to this place I discovered. It is between both places and the food, shops and people are worth a stop.
Looking at the sign doesn't say much about the food. Everyone I know enjoys good food. If you follow my blog, you would know that I always share I am a MADD mom, which basically means a family member has died alcoholism. I always add to be careful. don't drink and drive.

The Citris City Grill was getting ready for their dinner crowd. I was pleased I could have sat anywhere in their restaurant. Unusual offer since most restaurants only have sections of their restaurant open when it's not happy hour and it's not dinner hour. They have three sections. Bar area, dinning room and a patio area. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. I choose to sit outside. It gets hot in the city of Corrona. The hottest I'm told is 108 degrees. Not sure how cold the winters are.

Happy Hour is at 7. Seven dollar food items with generous portions.
I wish I would have taken a picture of the hummus I ordered as an appetizer. It was so delicious my mouth still waters just thinking about it. The beef dip that's what I call it, was tender, tasty, testimonial. If you like horseradish that is creamy and smooth a blend of taste with little burn you'll like this one. It was served with crispy fries. They crunch when you bight into them with greesy feel or taste. Yum!

Now here is why I wrote that is am MADD mom. It doesn't mean I don't have or taste an occasional alcoholic beverage. I found their alcoholic beverages to have such a variety  that you might end up drinking more than one should. I tried a pineapple martini. It was surprisingly delicious. The view from the patio is of the lake that is called Dos Logos. Sitting under the green umbrellas you can relax and enjoy. However, they do have lounge sitting areas, living room style where you can watch TV if your that type of person. Personally when I dine out, I'd rather enjoy the moment than watch tv. I'm not much on TV. That's true about when I'm home as well.

Here I am under the green umbrella with the breeze blowing my hair, while trying to take this photograph and smile. not an easy task. The Smile that is. Just joking. You can see the patio seatting, the "rib rust tunnel" that's what I call it that sits between both lakes. "Dos Logos".

Hope you'll try this place, then write me and tell me if it was worth the drive.
