Does Social Media Have a Place In Meetings?

Hi there,

As you may have read I enjoy social media etiquette. Therefore, as I was writing about the gossip part of social on my blog Diamond Glamor Girls I was thinking about business and how social media is used.

Social Media In Business Etiquette.

  1. There are not too many CEO's who tell people when and where their board meetings are. (Private)
  2. Socials also known as Creative  and Executives are not the same. One runs their own business, being responsible to themselves. The executive is responsible to himself and many people. Therefore information is private.
  3. Executives don't have the time to constantly post what they are doing in social situations. If they post a post that can hurt their business they could get fired.
  4. Create a position (salaried with medical benefits) for a person to handle all your social media.
  5. If you are a executive you might need a person like a personal assistant jut to deal with it your social. This would be your personal social. Helping you stay private.
The importance of social is learning when and where, what is important to post and what isn't.

Good Caterer Cheap Caterer

Hi there,

What is a good topic for Business?  What is a business that hires and event planner to plan their event and wants cheap? This is one of my biggest frustrations! The corporation who wants us to recommend their service and then tells the person I have a contact with they can plan the event for cheaper. What is the difference?

The catering company usually plans the food. How do you know the difference between a good caterer and a cheap one? Here are a few tips.

1. The caterer normally provides the food for the event.

2. They will plate the food, unless you want it buffets style. Plated means the food is served on a plate prior to being served to the guest.

3. If the event is in an unusual place, off site. They must provide a kitchen with all ability to serve the food according to health standards. A health inspector can stop in at any time and see if it is to code.

4. Depending on the contract place settings and servers are an additional cost.

What is a cheap caterers.

1. They pre-cook the food and drop it off at the designated location.

2. They pay or may not provide a paper place setting these caterers must be asked questions of what all the catering includes. Beverage, Food, Deserts, Placesetting.

3. There is no monitoring of food at location by health services, the person who ordered the food is liable.

It is important to know the difference when your masking choices. It's best to take your time and do your research.

Either way I recommend one gets event insurance. Many times it can just be done by the company that know the venue. It's an add on policy for the day or dates of the event.

Entertainments at Events

Did you you know there are three types of photo Booths you can rent for your event.
1. Slo-mo action
 2. Instant Social Sharing
3. Magic Mirror

Now you can hear more about it on my radio program at Maria Kamon©™ @MKPDE on ITunes,  GooglePlay or PocketCast please read disclaimer on the contact page of this blog. I would appreciate it you, like, subscribe and tell a friend.

It is a changing world and I enjoy events where the focus isn't on alcohol and more on encouraging guest to interact with each other. That's why transition times are now filled with things for people to do. Such as a photo booth. There are also social moments where you can ask your guest to use a # hastag when they post their photographs on social media. You can also require your event to be private and have no photographs posted. If you whish you can collect guest phones at the door. If you do this you should have it posted to leave phone at home on the invitation.

Games played at an event can make it Memorial both for the guest. Creating a since of envolment.
If you'd like more information please feel free to contact me.

2017-2018 Fashion Season Is Here!

Micheal Cinco

This is my number one pick for this year's fashion season.

I love this formal wear this season and his whole collection is just so impressive.

1. Choice of colors.

2. How he mixed the mixed the old with the new. He took something like a princess look and then he added fur throw. Did you see the beading on the dresses. I can't believe his only been around since 2003.

3. How elegant to step into your ball wearing a fur around your arms

4. He added male dressed in the era. He also created a look more casual, still in his style for himself.

5. He included somehow the most Godly of paintings in he like of clothing. Creative and earth bound.

6. I can see myself mixing some of the accessories and making a more casual wear. Meaning I think some of his piece can be mixed and matched. How great would the headband look with a casual pair of pants, white blouse and one of his vest. How a out this put on elegant dinner dress and grab his purse. What's gentleman doesn't look better with a well dressed woman at his side.

7. Now all I need is a.) The money to purchase one of his gowns. b.) The invitation to attend an event where I would need such an event.

Please read the disclaimer on the contact page of those blog. I have not been paid by Michael Cinco to write about js absolutely dreamy collection on angelic reflection here on earth. like Subscribe and leave a comment below.

Planning 2017-18 Event

Hi there,

I love this time of season in my workplace. The kids are home from school. The days seem lazy event though they are filled with production of planning for what Events are ahead.

If you are considering planning an event for December 2017 - December 2018, this is the time to make some decisions before you look for a venue. Now that I think about it, this blogpost isn't just for brides to be.

Consider these options:

  1.  Make a ruff draft of your budget. There are plenty of on-line tools that will help you. You can also visit my website at Qhttp://mkpurediamondevents.com
  2. Start interviewing event planner who are willing to help you plan. If you are looking to stay within budget you won't, Non-the-less there are event planners that have what are called "cookie cutter" Events and they know exactly what their cost are if you do exactly what they say and you will have your event. The things that changes is your colors and any additional items you want.
  3. Holidays get booked first. That means if you want an event on Christmas or New Years you have to book now for December, 2018.
  4. In the event world it makes a big difference if you hire an industry professionals or not. Either way your more than likely to go over budget due to human nature and desire. It gets emotional planning Events. Afterall, it's your Big Day and you should have everything you have ever dreamed of.

Every Planner Has A Planner

Hi there, Reader;

I am caught in the whirl of planner this plan that and planner people who say use my product. They send me products constantly to try out.  How creative can a planner be? We are as creative as our planner. I laughed as I say that because within the planner community there is an endless verity of planners. That's not including all the apps that will also plan and organize your life.

I did want to wish this planner a Happy 19th Birthday! Do you journal in your planner? Yes! Do you keep track of your appointments in your planner? Yes! Do you keep important information,.such as daily things to do, organization, personal information, pass codes, credit card numbers, doctors, family, friends phone numbers? Yes! Take a look at the Hobonichi planner and see if it fits your needs.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of customizing this planner to suit my personal and business needs. It has the flexibility ,so on the days where I might not have words to express myself I can easily create a sketch or small drawing. On the days where I am filled with appointments or meetings I can just use it as journal entry. The flexibility is perfect for the needs of students to needs of professionals and everything in between. Are you a busy mom? Yes! Are you the artistic type who needs to just have a place to put your creative thoughts? Yes! Then this might just be the planner for you! Let's make a toast 🍶 to Hobonichi: May you have many years, may your days be long and your inspiration be filled with the joys of such a great product.

Congratulations Canada 150th Anniversary of Confederation

Canada 150 Years Old

Hi there, Readers;

This is such an exciting year all around the world with different nations celebrating different anniversaries in  fight to be recognized throughout the years in History. I confess I really don't know much about Canada, other than it is cold weather and beautiful countryside in the spring and summer. When I read this article that it is a good year to visit Canada in business because of its celebration I knew I had to write a blog about it. In the hopes I will be hired to speak or plan a meeting there. Our neighbors to the United States are rather quiet in US History and probably an excellent choice for planning a business meetings or event in the lovely country.

In Montreal this year there is more to celebrate than the Confederation. The city celebrates 375th birthday. There will be a slew of celebrations throughout the city. There is so much history there. It appeals to us like New York, Chicago or San Fransico. It will have its celebrations of lights, music and history.

Hours northeast is Montreal sits an even high settlement: Quebec City, Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain. This is the only fortified city north of Mexico.

Eastern Canada

Here are a list of places to visit.

  • Royal Musuem 105-year olf grande dame of Canada's Culture
  • Art Gallery of Ontario can handle groups of 2500 for sit-down meals only 400
  • Royal Ontario Museum
  • Gardiner Museum Canada's National Ceramic Museum
  • Aga Khan Museum Persian Art
  • Hockey Hall of Fame
  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre
  • Hilton Toronto Downdown
  • Omni King Edward Hotel
Montreal
  • Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
  • Pointe-a-Calliere
  • Musee d'art comtemporain de Montreal
Quebec City
  • Musee National des Beaux Arts de Quebec
  • Musee de la Civlisation
  • Musee de l'Amerique Francohon
  • Aquarium du quebec
  • Le Monastere de Augustines
  • La Citadelle
  • Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac
Each of these place need to be contacted personally for more information on pricing, meeting and event space available for rental. Beautiful venues always have a price and I highly recommend if you are a business that has an event planner on site you have them do the investigative work, if not hire a independent meeting and event planner to plan it for you.

MenGetWed.blogspot.com; WomanGetWed.blogspot.com and how I got started is writing a gossip blog named DiamondGlamourGirls.blogspot.com It's a play off my business that plans meeting  and event services. I got asked who I was planning Events for so often and I don't usually let it be known unless my client request it that I started a gossip blog. With that I'd like you to take a moment and read Man Bags. There is gossip trending that it's number one on Google. I have been know to be a ghost writer from time to time. Sometimes, companies pitch MariaKamon©™ an idea and I get paid a salary. If I post this on one of my blogs I will let you know I am being paid for it. That's what disclosure is about on this blog and non of the incentive gifts have I been paid from. How do I know the quality of these companies? 1. I personally have used the products or 2. I have met them or someone who has is employed by them and recommends their company.  I hope this settles any questions you might have. For many years I was employed in the corporate world before starting my own business.

With this I will close the Corporate Incentives. The last one is a spa gift. A weekend away.for the couples there they can get a massage, relax and just be a married couple without the worries of home or work. I recommend that you find one in your business or company.

As for San Diego I recommend the THE INN@Rancho Santa Fe . When I contacted them for details on their packages I found out they will customized them to fit your companies/business needs and budget.

I hope you enjoyed this series of incentive gifts. If you did please leave a comment below, Like, Subscribe and click on an advertiser. That's how I get paid. The more a person clicks on an advertiser the more the blog get paid. Thank you for subscribing.

8 Tips When Men Are Hammering On Your Roof Top

Hi there, Reader;

Have you ever heard the song "If I Had A Hammer" it's lyrics are:

If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land, uh
If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening
All over this land
I'd ring out danger
I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land, oh
If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening
All over this land
I'd sing out danger
I'd song of out a warning
I'd sing out love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land, oh
Well, I've got a hammer
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing
All over this land
It's the hammer of justice
It's the bell of freedom
It's a song about love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land
It's a hammer of justice
It's a bell of freedom
It's a song about love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
Songwriters: Lee Hays / Pete Seeger
The song discuss and ideal time in the world. When the help of one was the goal of another. What if you catch me on the roof top? What the ? Offering new construction you don't want or need?

How does one cope? When there is new construction in you business and the man on the roof top is trying to force the direction of they ways things should be without consulting you in real person?

1. Read and know the companies Mission Statement.

2. Call him out! Draw attention to the fact he is making a mistake and it will cost him money.

3. Still in accepting of the fact. Re- explain step 1 and 2.

4. This one is rather sad, file a report with the proper authorities.

5. Consider the legal steps that need to be taken to stop further actions.

6. Just because the man on the roof top wants doesn't means he gets.

7. Book, book the proper authorities to speak to the man on the rooftop and tell him your not interested in what he brought you or the company he hired to do the job.

8. Don't settle for what the false will of someone else. We live in a state that doesn't allow people to force their will upon you.

Cherry Blossoms

Hi there, Reader;

I flew to Japan when I was very young and fell in love with how they treated their children. Cherry Blossom a beloved tree a symptom Even when I was very young I knew that there was something that they had that I wanted. I covet this family that owned the local pharmacy until they adopted me into there family.

I would enter their store and share my ice breakers With them and exchange stories. I saved my money just so I could go into their store to purchase a bic pen until I learned something new. I think for all those years I must of become a little Japanese. I think I'm turning Japanese was one of the funniest songs ever written.

Later, as time went on, business life took over and from running summer camps to planning Meetings I have had the pleasure of being a little Japanese.

The one thing I learned and fell in love with is organization.

1 . They respect Education.

2. They are will organized. In spirit and in truth.

3. They, and I say this with the most respected possible. They is such a general term, because there is individuality within families. They are believers in marriage and family. The good that it brings.

4. I enjoy the business respect they have for one another. A well ruined time effect meeting is highly respected. I to must agree with that thought. As I matured in business and had more responsibilities. I came to an understanding of that thought. Mindset. It is more pleasurable to separate business from social.

5. I enjoy that when your in business mode, there is no talking about personal or social. Your there to get a task done. These things usually take place after the meeting or courteous reminders at the bringing of the meeting.

Once a Cherry Blossom always a Cherry Blossom.

The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short.

Please read the disclaimer in the contact form. Also thank you to the Japanese Friendship Garden for allowing Maria Kamon©™ Photography to photograph the cherry blossom in bloom 2017 season.

I hope you will join us for the photo competition or contest @Nodsish or #Nodsish  on Intagram.com and win a Cannon Pixma wireless, print, copy, scan. Contest will run until April 1, 2017.

Thank you for reading this blog. I hope you'll subscribe. Please leave comments or email them to MK Pure Diamond Events.

Rate Change 2017

Hi  there, Reader;

You know I believe in our truth as business. Due to the full disclosure I have to pass my cost of doing business onto the consumers. Yea, it is unfortunate however true. The following changes apply effective March 17, 2017.

All foreign countries toll calls will be charged at rate $3.00 a minute. What this means if you want to call MK Pure Diamond Events and vent about your new mother in law, or your bad marriage for 20 minutes the cost would be a cost of $60.00. If I where to make a profit on this I would have to change you more.  Text messages will be at a rate of .50 per minute. No worries however in an however, if your text message is filled with a hundred words than the cost of doing business in that text is $50.00 for example.  I might get picture messages will cost $1.30 per picture, photograph or video. and you send me 10 photographs, 15 pictures and one video I will be changing you per frame that I have to review.  Data is a little higher than most at a rate of $2.05 for information. Anyone seeking information will be charged at a rate of $2.05 for each information I have to relay, the cost of this is approximately $110.00.

I understand this is a little difficult for you that I can no longer give you a bid for you meeting, event, wedding for free. I tried telling you that all things must STOP, however others insisted on their way, therefore I must pass on the cost of doing business to my customers and clients.  I regret and sorrow that this has happened however, you know I must take responsibility for my business as you must for your decisions.

I like, you am in the business of doing what is right for my business and therefore you must understand I am saddened by this change in the ways we must communicate. Therefore, I will leave emails free for now.  I am sure as a consumer of MK Pure Diamond Events Meeting and Event Planning services or Maria Kamon (c)TM Photography you understand the responsibility of doing business and how not only I have to pass the debt to consumers, so does big business. Therefore, now that you have read this full disclosure you understand the importance of the blogpost.I believe in full disclaimer when ever possible.
With this please be aware MK Pure Diamond Events has changed Ed their rates.

Monday! Monday!

Maria Kamon Photography "Angels Wings"

Monday, Monday so good to me! Monday Morning was all I hoped it would be.
What is the correct day for a:
Anniversary
Birthday
Baptism
Celebration
Event
Religious Event

We are always about the etiquette in formal events, I am a believer in etiquette. The proper conduct for the event you are planning. Number of people, Seating, Invitations the formality of this in events creates events that are orderly, people know what to expect, what not to expect, how to behave, how not to behave.
Still with this people will still choose to rebel.

This is where I believe angels wings come in. It is knowing that the day that you choose to plan your event has nothing to do with the day of the week the event is on.

It doesn't matter if your event is on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. It has more to do with how you feel about the day. Etiquette wise it is important for you to consider how the day of the week will affect your:
Guest
Cost
Transportation
Hotel Stay
Availability
Is the day about you only or you and all who attend?

Monday, it is so good to me! The day this person felt is the best day of the week for them. Good things happen on this day. Some feel it is Friday, others Wednesdays and others Sunday. It is about making the event you are planning special for yourself.

What day is good to you and did an angel have something to do with that?

Monday! Monday!

Flowers for Your Table (Helpful Advice)

Hi there, Reader:

I am so blessed to have this employment were I get to use all my gifts and talents to produce events worthy of my clients. I am glad you are with me on this one because who wants to have an event without decor. Decor ranges from ceiling to floor. It is so much fun to design a room that is eye pleasing to the guest, memorial to the clients planning it.
Let's talk flowers. I have recently been trying to gather photos that I have taken throughout the years. I love talking weddings, events, flowers and all that makes things beautiful to the eye. It is the eye that is the window to soul of the client. It is important to know the client before deciding on the type of flowers.

Many questions need to be asked before one can even begin to plan the type of arrangements to have at your event.

1. After you know what the theme is.
2. After you decide on the colors you will be using.
3. After you decided on the place, location, time.
4. After you decided on the budget you have.
Begin to think about the floral arrangement you want.

5. What size floral arrangement you want. Measure the height and weight of the arrangement. If you do not have the funds to pre-purchase one then measure an item, put it on the table and sit, look to see if you can see the person across the table from you. Do you want your guest to have a conversation? Or are you inviting couples that will not need to have conversations across the table.

6. Will you be having children at the tables? Can they reach the arrangements or will you have an area just for children?

7. The design in can be made to look old...vintage, new...modern, shapes, color, hues all affect the look of what you are trying to see.
8. In arranging the table decor be sure to arrange odd number items work best. (3, 5, 7) etc.

9. Be sure to consider the space between your guest. Sometimes guest feel uncomfortable when the have to sit too close together.

Colors Making It Bold!

Bold Colors

Everyone likes entering a venue and seeing color. It adds a joyous feeling to the celebration.
How joyous it is to sit at a table that has bust of bright colors. Why? It evoke are senses, it engages are emotions and colors says the things we sometimes can't. It forces you to look at it! This is what I recommended for business, I know it is the opposit of what is customary. Business like calm colors and the traditional navy blue suit speaks of how trustworthy we are. However at an event you want people a little out of their comfort zone. You want your guest talking. You want your guest to feel joy with you, to be in the moment and time with you.
I love this picture of the flowers it shows how soft and fragil they can be. Have you ever been to a venue were the flowers have been abuse? The events is usually not to the tasting of most people, they know something is wrong but they just can't put their finger on it.
Unspoken things at a happy event sometes create an atmospher of oppression, sadness, depression. There is no way way if you are the owner of corporation you want your employees to feel unhappy. It will cost you too much money, not only in medical bills but also in lack of productivity.
Brides feel the same way to. They want their lives to be productive, their marriage to be happy, families to enjoy themselves.
The colors can be in burst or in small punts the choice are yours.
Red the color of passion is also with white making it a boutique of love. Her message is clear, she is in love with her man, or maybe her God,
This picture show a bride that acknowledges all her bridesmaids as brides, however they are individuals, each have a differ, bright path they will be walking. The color is expresses in their shoes. The floral arrangements express the colors engaged in their walk. I am willing to bet as they walked down the isle, you look up at them. Your eyes would naturally choose to look at the color first.

I love this business it has change so much since I first stated planning events. Today's corporation, bride, individual has much more freedom of self expression.

Thank you for letting me barrow these photos to make my point. If you enjoyed  reading this blog click on an ad, tell a friend, share it with a business, call us for a free consultation. I would love to talk events, success  and anything that blesses the day God Gave us. If you choose follow us on Facebook, Twittier, Instagram, Yelp, we are on most social media. Got an idea you need help with let me know and I will see if I have a solution, first 30 minutes are free.

YOUR DREAM, OUR PLAN, AN ACCOMPLISHED GOAL

Every person has a dream of what their event should look like. Some think of castles other, vintage, yet other love modernism. When looking for an event planner ask yourself questions first:

1. What time era? (Not all people choose one)
2. How much money do I want to spend?
3. How much money do I have to spend?
4. Where is the difference coming from?
5. Fine an event planner that is working for you.
6. Ask questions!
7. Make sure the goal you and the event planner are trying to accomplish are the same, it can be accomplished within your time frame, and budget.
8. If the event planner tells you it's going to cost more than your budget, find another one.

You deserve someone who is working with you to help you accomplish your "Diamond Occurrence!"

I am sure just like others you have family and friends that would love to spend your money, or sabotage your day.

The person you hire should do everything within her/his ability to assist you.

There are things that are out of the control of the event planner. One of those are the wants and desires of the client being influenced by others.

The weather! Acts of God theory it's called.

Acts by others hired by the client.

Acts by venue or staff of venue.

For these things Insurance is recommended.

Wedding Insurance or Event Insurance.
