Is Starbucks The Lead

Hi there,

Social media and computer saavy Starbucks is taking a lead in the employee education of social media. The coffee mogal has decided to close many of its stores. What is it exactly that you would tell your employees about social media.

If I place myself in this franchise company and am using my computer to do some of the work I need to get done. "Do you apple?" #iapple "Isn't this how it all was started? Ya, I apple but I don't want you up in my business." When is it sexual harassment?

After years of Starbucks accepting this, what are the going to say to employees? Please don't allow social media. People aren't enjoying it anymore. That's what Starbucks is there known for. Isn't it?

Politely have customer satisfaction over social media. Maybe they will post a sign, no social media while on computer. Social medial only accept while #iphone. I don't enjoy being on my phone in public places do you? Really, our society is suffering from social and if we go the other extreme is prejuduice. Where is the balance between showing people your not prejuduice, you just don't want to be social in public places with strangers. You don't mind talking to them you just don't want to be up in their business.

It's a really tuff balance and I congratulate Starbucks for attempting something bigger than them. We will all be watching.

Thanks for leading th way for us smaller businesses.

How Social is Social? Workplace Questions?

Hi there,

I was thinking about the work / peer relationships how it affects the workplace.

Let's define:
so·cial
ˈsōSHəl/
adjective
  1. 1.
relating to society or its organization.

"alcoholism is recognized as a major social problem"
    synonyms:communalcommunitycollectivegroupgeneralpopularcivilpublicsocietal

    "a major social problem"
    • 2.
      ZOOLOGY
(of a bird) gregarious; breeding or nesting in colonies.
      synonyms:gregariousinteractional;
      organized

      "a uniquely social animal"
      noun
      1. 1.
an informal social gathering, especially one organized by the members of a particular club or group.

        "a church social"
        synonyms:partygatheringfunctionget-togethersoirée;
Social media are computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks. Wikipedia

When your in school you have your friends your with. By the time your in college the circle of friends usually get smaller. One has a good time finding people with the same common interest, goals and likes. Healthy competition makes people become better. The thing is we learn what we are about. Yes, I mean oneself. Getting to know others helps define who we are and how we accept others or do we force others?

That's why I am finding the influence of social media interesting. I don’t really know what we called it when I was in college. Maybe it was friends, friendship. How does social media affect the lives of social people? Do we stop being good friends, shen we call it social? It is interesting. One has to ask the question is what is written in social media truthful? How does one know truth from lies? Influences are there to influence what you purchase and how you see products. Retailing should not be forced. This is like drinking alcohol or drugs we are told to say no is acceptable. No! Don't drink alcohol and drive.

How does that define the workplace when the boundaries of social, social media, and friend all become one big fine line. Does this mean if I have thousands of following do I turn that into my employer when the position they offer? Although then the question of who I am comes into question. Why should I turn over my social media when I am the one that worked t building it. They get and understand what my goals are. Do I sell my following for a price?  If I do sell how d-es one price such a thing? All questions yet to be unanswered.

Know who your with. If you have a following, make sure you know your boundaries are. Test your social media to see if they speak truth or lies into life. If you feel threatened in anyway call the police. 911 or your local number for non emergency.

      Summarizing this blog.

      1.  Understand the difference between being social at work with co-workers and social media.

      2. Test truth spoken with actions and behavior.

      3. Make sure your following in social media is not following you in real life. Unless it's an appointment made and agreed upon. There are laws against stocking a person. Following them in real life for the sake of following them.

4,  if threaten in spirt thought or truth. 9all the police . If need to seek medical advice.

Does Social Media Have a Place In Meetings?

      Hi there,

As you may have read I enjoy social media etiquette. Therefore, as I was writing about the gossip part of social on my blog Diamond Glamor Girls I was thinking about business and how social media is used.

      Social Media In Business Etiquette.

      1. There are not too many CEO's who tell people when and where their board meetings are. (Private)
      2. Socials also known as Creative  and Executives are not the same. One runs their own business, being responsible to themselves. The executive is responsible to himself and many people. Therefore information is private.
      3. Executives don't have the time to constantly post what they are doing in social situations. If they post a post that can hurt their business they could get fired.
      4. Create a position (salaried with medical benefits) for a person to handle all your social media.
      5. If you are a executive you might need a person like a personal assistant jut to deal with it your social. This would be your personal social. Helping you stay private.
The importance of social is learning when and where, what is important to post and what isn't.

      Organic Blog Vs Non Organic

      Hi there,

Have you ever wanted to be successful at something?

Do you desire to be thriving instead of surviving? Searching for food in places your not sure of? Told be grateful. You won't make any money at it. What is the difference?

Organic blogs and websites are not usually not paying for advertising. That does not mean they don't pay for their website. It means they want it to grow, what use to be called word of mouth advertising. You read my blog, enjoy it and tell a friend. Thats were social media comes it. From what I have been reading Pinterest has taken the lead with entrepreneurs and helping them to grow their businesses.
Facebook has fallen to number two. Where Instagram is starting to move up the ranks of its very loyal following. Their following is insistent that Instagram is what is helping them make money in business.

Like all these forms of organic advertising their are ways to make post that will yield you an increase in website views or blogging post. The completion between these social businesses means nothing but good news for bloggers and others who post on social. If a good quality photographs can send you customers. Why not?

It is learning what each social media requires and then posting accordingly. Why? It reaches people in places your advertising dollars can not reach. That's organic advertising. However, I'm told it takes longer. I believe that's what part of the learning curve.

      Entertainments at Events

Did you you know there are three types of photo Booths you can rent for your event.
      1. Slo-mo action
       2. Instant Social Sharing
      3. Magic Mirror

Now you can hear more about it on my radio program at Maria Kamon©™ @MKPDE on ITunes,  GooglePlay or PocketCast please read disclaimer on the contact page of this blog. I would appreciate it you, like, subscribe and tell a friend.

It is a changing world and I enjoy events where the focus isn't on alcohol and more on encouraging guest to interact with each other. That's why transition times are now filled with things for people to do. Such as a photo booth. There are also social moments where you can ask your guest to use a # hastag when they post their photographs on social media. You can also require your event to be private and have no photographs posted. If you whish you can collect guest phones at the door. If you do this you should have it posted to leave phone at home on the invitation.

Games played at an event can make it Memorial both for the guest. Creating a since of envolment.
If you'd like more information please feel free to contact me.

      The Battle of Ages

      Hi there,

I recently posted a tweet of a blog that talked about the children who are now young adults who where are called Millennium. They think out of the box. Trying to make a name for themselves. Money, desire and understanding escapes the realities of generations before them.

I have my opinion and and my professional magazine has there. Firsts let's discuss what the industry has addressed.

      Photograph from pixel.com

      1. Millennials believe that businessmen focus on their agenda rather than society.
      2. They don't feel like they are being utilized correctly in the workplace.
      3. They enjoy watching things on-line and don't understand why they are not invited to the event they are watching.
      4. They enjoy attending an event tweeting about it and finding other was to make additional income frome corporate sponsorships.
      5. They grew up with technology. Therefore they are faster, better and more trusting of it than many of their supervisors and employer.

Therefore, I believe it is perceived as a sense of self importance. Here is my personal opinion.

      1. The technology change has made Millennials feel independent very early in life. Technology although important can give a person a since of unspent before they are capable of understanding the full meaning of what that means and the responsibility of it.

      2. Baby Boomers as they are called were born after their parents were in war. This was a time to be cautious, have self control and plan a strategy for success. It was never handed to them and they learn not to expect it. Life was hard.

      3. I believe the lack of history being taught in a way to evoke compassion in society causes gaps in understanding of different generation. Therefore, the gap between Millennials understand why Baby Boomers aren't social. Baby Boomers don't understand the need for there constant need.

This puts to question parental rights. Are you as a parent taking responsibility for your child's social. Teaching what is appropriate for the child to do on their smart phone or are you using it as a babysitter so you can get things done? Is it like the TV generation? Was to other generations?

Now we have a generation of YouTubers who feel that they have to document their next generation on YouTube. Very much like I Love Lucy! If you didn't grow up watching that TV show. It is the story of a couple starting their lives together and trying to keep up with the Jones! In this case the Mertiz's

The realty is anything you enter a workforce you will discover that you have strengthening and weekend. I assure you both generations have more in common than what you might think.

      1. A deep desire to succeed.
      2. The need to prove you can and will accomplish the goal to your best ability.
      3. The need to win or be right.
      4. The need to be respect,  be paid, and succeed.
      5. The need to not be abused, discriminated against due to age, generation, color, race, creed, sex.
      6. The need to be heard and understood.
      7. Accepted for who they are.  Don't we all need this.
