Congratulations Canada 150th Anniversary of Confederation

Canada 150 Years Old

Hi there, Readers;

This is such an exciting year all around the world with different nations celebrating different anniversaries in  fight to be recognized throughout the years in History. I confess I really don't know much about Canada, other than it is cold weather and beautiful countryside in the spring and summer. When I read this article that it is a good year to visit Canada in business because of its celebration I knew I had to write a blog about it. In the hopes I will be hired to speak or plan a meeting there. Our neighbors to the United States are rather quiet in US History and probably an excellent choice for planning a business meetings or event in the lovely country.

In Montreal this year there is more to celebrate than the Confederation. The city celebrates 375th birthday. There will be a slew of celebrations throughout the city. There is so much history there. It appeals to us like New York, Chicago or San Fransico. It will have its celebrations of lights, music and history.

Hours northeast is Montreal sits an even high settlement: Quebec City, Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain. This is the only fortified city north of Mexico.

Eastern Canada

Beautiful venues always have a price and I highly recommend if you are a business that has an event planner on site you have them do the investigative work, if not hire a independent meeting and event planner to plan it for you.

Groovy Meeting Place (Meeting Out of the Box)

Summer of Love

50th Anniverary

Can you believe it? It's been 50 years. Do you remember all the men with long hair and the peace symbols ✌....love in the air and free love, music playing. The birth of marijuana🍃, baked in brownies and the introduction of rock and roll. We were all trying to find a way to excist without violence. Our youth was fighting in viet nam. Draft dodgers, dancing in the streets, rebellion, tie died shirts, macrame , chokers necklaces , hand made, hand crafted, sewing cloths, neon colors, blue lights, black lights. Room walls painted black. Big flowers 🌼 and graffiti . Artist had to express themselves and our right of free speech was accepted and embraced. "Make love not war." was the thought in most young adult minds and thus the "Baby Boomer" generation grew.

San Francisco is celebrating this year with all the memories of the past. Take you business meeting San Fransisco and think out of the box.

Stretegic Meeting Planning

Hi there, Reader:

I was just at an MPI meeting, for those of you who don't know what MPI is the acronyms stand for Meeting Professionals International. It is an organization, that empowers professionals to be the Tbest they can.

As I thought about what to write today for this blog, I thought about how we run meetings and how on thee news it's all about the meetings of the President. What he is going to do in the first 100 days of office.

The first thing you must know is that he has a  plan a goal for what he hopes to accomplish. The second thing I would think he has is a time limit on how long the meeting will last and how much time before the action will happen. The third thing he must have is the cost. A budget.

A strategic meeting is always planned and always has a purpose before entering the meeting date. Here is my suggestions for a successful business meeting.

  1. Have a goal clearly written. Not only the goal of the meeting, also the goal of what you are discussing.
  2. Have a timeline in mind. I know it's great to have it on our smart phones, tablets and computers, however as humans we have to use as many senescence as we can, therefore I suggest you have it also printed on a calendar.
  3. Have the time written in a place of importance what time the meeting will begin and end. A five (5) minute grace period is acceptable other than that you need to start and finish at the times spoken, planned. Also have it known what is the goal of the project to be implemented.
  4. Respect people and they will respect you back. Finish the meeting on time.
  5. Let everyone know when the next meeting will be and the goals to be accomplished before leaving.
