2018 Goal

Hi there, Reader:

It is important to know oneself in the midst of all the luxury items I work around. Have you ever been surrounded by beautiful things, people, places and then you walk into your life and its average or below average if you are like me who has had to start over in an unexpected time.

This by no means is a complaint. I am a college graduate, a CEO of a business,entrepreneur , business woman, author and some what accomplish as others have told me. Somehow in the midst of all those accomplishments the house and home can be judged by others. You see to them my average house wasn't good enough, because they had bigger, better, more. They had more money, better cars, a life as seen on TV and I didn't choose it. I choose the place that I did.

The abundant life where more , bigger, better, is never ending. There is always someone to be better than, make more money than, compete with. The thing is I through my personal experience have found they are not any happier or less happier of those that have less and still experience the same things. Peer pressure is something all ages experience. I could of , should of , would of are all excuses. The truth is my simple quiet lifestyle I enjoy. Why?  I see the rich, I see the famous, I have seen the homeless, I have seen the hunger. I have helped, served and been helped and been served. What makes one different than the other? Attitude.

Why then would I want to write a goal and share it with you. to encourage you to continue doing your best you can. That's all we can do. I am like I said an writer, author, business woman who now has a few personal goals of her own.

  1. To be paid to speak. I plan events and ever though about selling my story until this year. I would love the opportunity to speak about what it is like to be an event planner. Maybe event talk about the importance of woman in business.
  2. Complete writing my book. "Wedding Planning Planner"(c)TM   A book to help people plan a wedding, hire the correct event planner and still succeed at being themselves.
  3. Purchase a house and make it my own.  A home to live in, succeed in being myself in.
I also have other personal goal like enjoy my life the best I can regardless of my circumstances. Continue to learn new things and leave the past in the past. Little by little improve my photography skills and post them on Instagram @Nodsish I am so trying not to be this person who just collects a following  rather I have recently tried posting a photograph where I was trying to work on different photography skills such as composition, color, angel and ask those who view it if I really caught it or not. The reason I ask is not because I want to build my ego although it is important to have good self-esteem. I ask questions to know your opinion a a follower. Like when I paint a painting, sometimes I thing I caught it painted it and then I walk away and realize it's still not there. That's how I see photography. I can always edit the photography to accomplish the goal. My goal is to take a photo I don't have to edit. Edits like in writing can change the meaning, thoughts and intention. The fun at this point is to take the photo and accept what is seen. trying to get it right the first time. I now take my camera to events, something I never use to do. I thought it a conflict of interest. Today it is most acceptable. For those photographs you can look at Instagram @MKPDE

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog. You see without goals we just are wondering in life. It doesn't matter where you are in life. You can just live aimlessly. What a goal does is give you a direction.  What direction do you want your life to go in? List one Goal you'd like to accomplish in 2018.

Blow UP!

Hi there, Reader;

Have you ever had a project blow up in your face? Have you ever experienced a presentation blow-up?  I remember when I first begin in the business world and was young and always worried about how I would do what my boss wanted me to do. He or she was called a boss then, today I believe it is a superior or an executive. I recently witnessed the age discrimination when men wanted to meet a person and they fell short of their expectations. They were not young enough of their fantasy wasn't met. Whatever, the reason here are a few coping skills met along the way. Or shall I say I learned along the way.

When it blows up:

  •  You can address the issue with the person. Although, I honestly think they will denied that it happened or that they were trying to sabotage you. I would try this first and when the NO! or the STOP doesn't work. The over the top accusation in the workplace don't go over well. Then show them what you are made of. Not literally let them just experience the reality that you are not willing to allow it.  It doesn't mean it didn't happen it just means the person wants more than you are wiling to give them and you are not responsible for their ambition.
  • Get a witness. First make sure you don't tell the witness anything. So they can help you. It has to be a person or persons you know will do right by you. It might take more than one person you know especially in the workplace. We all have our own interest in mind in the workplace. We are so called responsible for ourselves and no one else. Therefore, you have to make sure that the person you ask for help from will not end up betraying you.
  • You if possible video it, film it, photograph the moment of blow up if you can. Whether it's you getting nervous making a presentation, or when you are trying to put your things together, meet a deadline or just trying to put a project together. Your goal is to succeed in what you do. No for anyone other than to do the job you were hired to do. I believe these moments define the person.
  • Handle each moment with a great deal of patience for yourself. Yes, you have to care about yourself, before others care for you. That means stop any self sabotaging thoughts. You are not required to think bad things or self defeating thoughts about yourself just because someone else wants you to.
  • Keep private things private. The workplace is never the place to share your personal business. If you went out and partied all weekend and show up to work a mess. They will know it. You don't have to share it. Let's face it we are all human and we either covet success or denie it. Self destruction is not what business is about. However, life happens to the best of us. I'd hate to think what happens to the worse of us.
  • Make sure if it is your superior you ask them when the next monetary compensation date is. It is customary that if you have to prove faith in the workplace you are monetary compensated for the experience both with dollars and medical benefits.

Thank you for reading this blog. The above photograph was a download from dreamtime.com. Like usual please read the disclaimer at the end of this blog. Time & Events "Bissary" point of View

Hi there, Reader;

I get a daily Newsletter I enjoy reading by Tony Robbins, this one is called " Time & Life" . I have been reading about this man since I entered the business world in my college days. Planning fundraisers in order to help non-profit preschools have a better budget. Back then non-profit preschools were not allowed to get government funding because they had their own mission or agenda.

Anyway, I knew that if he (Tony Robbins) could make it big, I could consistently be employed. I never really thought about (myself) being "Big" back then or instant "Fame". It's different with people today. I was raised by a father, dad, man who was about trying to be consistent in the life of his family. He had mach success in his youth. He had failed newly married and never failed again, however he was also never really told he was forgiven. Just accepted back. It was important to him to constantly prove he was a good man, a good father, capable of being a provider for his family. He provided not only for my sister and I also for his mother. That he was. Even with he's failures maybe because of it his daughter learned lessons so young she has never forgotten his ways.  He gave up his dream to move to California and create a new dream. I saw him struggle with trying to rebuild at a mature age, I saw him rejoice at a mature age with each victory! I loved the man who was mature enough to let his daughter see both.

Events planning is much the same way. You get to see your clients in both good moments and what I like to call moments of grace. Bridezillas exist, however so do "Bissary". "Bissary or Bisinary", defined as a Christian Woman or Man,  business owner who has proven faith and is about her or his business, knowing that the Lord, God has a plan or a purpose for their life. They don't have to be big, they don't have to be small, they are what the should be at each moment and time. They are about the business at the moment to achieve the goal. It is knowing a consistency in life is as important. Staying the race and finishing is what it is about. We know and love the word of God and know the difference between someone who will help you and someone who will thief you.

The important thing about event planning is timing. If you are planning a wedding for example, it would be sad for the bride and groom if the guest entered when the couple had just begun their wedding vow? How would that really feel. Or the business person who is trying to raise funds for the company they work for and right as they are about to start the fundraising the event is over. The guest have to leave. No money was raised.

I know you want to plan your own event and not pay for the event planner. Let me ask you this. Are you going to stop your wedding to make sure the guest are in there place, the vendors are all doing what they are suppose to, the groom is where he and should be. Are you willing to get off the "stage" business area you are in to make sure, the musician are place, the awards are where they should be the guest and presenters are there the details are their. Yes, I know there are Teachers, Preachers who are will to get off the stage to make sure things are okay. Yes, the gospel is about the twelve disciplines, some of us are blessed in knowing them.

Everything has a perfect timing. In event planning we call it a "Timeline". It takes hours to put together. Each event is different and each timeline is different. Depending on the day and what will be done for the person. The timeline is mainly put together by the client and the event planner. Most people think it is this "fame' business because of who you meet and whom your clients are. However, very few event planners are about the fame. Most of us plan because we love what we do. We like you need to be employed to live our daily lives. Help us help you by not asking us for free items, things or discounts.
