The Big Wedding

Hi there, Reader;

The long awaited big wedding just happened yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Trump, became the President and First Lady of the United States of America. I like many others waited to see what the first 100 days of office would be all about. What did it start with? A "vaca". That's my kind of wedding. To what foreign or beautiful vacation destination did they pick? Palm Springs, CA. That speaks DYI ( Do It Yourself) "vaca" for all of us locals or California's. Not that anything is wrong with that. Palm Springs is known for their great golf, sun and fun. I enjoy visiting there myself. I hope they get to visit Napa Valley and the lovely resorts they have their. They too are known for their relaxation location.

I laugh at the reality of how much this wedding every four years has on the industry I am in. We look at the details from what we can see on our TV's or we search the web for the details to see if we can be so lucky to get clients that would want to do the same thing. For the next 6 months to a year we will all search every detail of this life's moment to see what and how much money we can make off the Trumps...now known as President and Mrs. Trump. I was going to screenshot a photograph and have bragging moments, however I decided to just link the page and let you look for yourself. Just click on their names.

I have a different belief. I think mine might be different because of the reality that endless hours on the internet yield's nothing, therefore I would rather spend my time doing something productive, like telling you their are no accidents in life. There are those that do what is right for themselves and others who try to copy or want what isn't theirs to take.

Here are some things that I believe the Trumps did very wise.

1. They planned in advance what they would wear. WOW Factor.
2. They kept things pretty quite.
3. They took control of each moment they could the best they could.
4. Did the budget and the end product equal out a big 0 speaking dollar wise, meaning did they balance the budget? That is one budget I would love to examine every detail and learn what is right. How much did they plan for? How much did it go over and why? For the purpose of making my business better.
5. Mrs. Trumps dress is elegant and Mr. I should say President Trump look like always a photograph right out of the magazine. I do wish they would have posted more photographs of the two of them. Did they or were they able to have a moment together with their family to just take in the moments? This is something every event planner includes in the planning process and I confess it is those quiet moments that are remembered a lifetime. Maybe every event planner doesn't include this, however I most certainly do.

The WOW Factor of the moment was there and I loved every moment I saw. For many of us we were at work and couldn't watch the whole thing therefore, we paid attention to our tweets and phone alerts and sneaked a moment or two to watch. I am blessed to live in a country that believes in freedom for all regardless of race, creek, color, and religion.

To: President and Mrs. Trump congratulations and thank you for taking a job no one else wants. Okay well maybe many want, just not enough qualify. Looking forward to the future and what you will bring.

To: Mr. and Mrs. Obama it was a pleasure watching you through-out the years... What a blessing it has been to be able to watch a President raise a family in the White House again. Thank you.

2017 Let's Talk Travel

Hi there, Reader;

Kate Spade

I am so excited to share this one with you that I will be posting this on all four of my blogs. It is the best there is for Honeymoon or Vacation.  Have you ever heard of getting paid for travel? I had not heard of it either until I read and saw this video from Time Magazine and Money Magazine. Sounds like a great way to save money and start planning a honeymoon to be remembered. Yes, there are couple who sometimes what to forget their honeymoon because it was ill planned. I confess to all of you I loved my honeymoon and all the little surprises my groom planned for us. It just wasn't long enough because work changed the start dates and called him.

Here are my suggestions.

1. Let your supervisor know that you are requesting time off.  Not early, nor late, each work handbook has the number of days you are suppose to submit the paperwork so do it at the appropriate time. I have heard of workers.

2. Don't tell them you are getting married if you are planning a small wedding and not inviting them. If you have to submit a reason why. The put small intimate wedding. It may or may not create hurt feelings in the workplace. It's the same mentality as when your a child and someone doesn't get invited to the birthday party.

3. Take the time to learn the interest of your wife/husband before you plan the wedding. Don't take them to the middle of Africa to camp if they are all about loving city life. It doesn't mean you can't plan a trip like that latter. It is just not advisable for your honeymoon.

4. Know how much your going to spend and then if possible double it. We all have shopping moments Plus when traveling it is better to have too much money rather than too little. Isn't that true about life.

5. Enjoy your honey...It should be a time to better get to know each other. Make future plans. Talk about nothing and talk about everything before the big responsibilities set in. What is that responsibility? You've lived together and dated for a while. Maybe, you don't live together... It's called life and daily living.

This is a disclaimer, although I am registered travel agent, I am not receiving any money at this time from these companies for writing about their magazine and video link,

From Time Magazine (Click on the Link)
The article from Money Magazine reads like this.

Tenting, Should I Tent the Event?

Hi there,

I was reading the latest in event planning when I came across this picture.
Tent Photograph Borrowed From The Knot
I received an email this morning asking for advice on party planning. It occurred to me I hadn't blogged about when it is appropriate to rent a tent for the event. Here are some guidelines you can use. Like any event in a venue that cost money, a tent rental will also cost money. The difference it provides unique atmosphere for your day. Considering the location will determine the size.

Things to consider when renting a tent.

  1. Season
  2. Location
  3. Area
  4. Size
  5. Flooring
  6. Color
  7. Do you want walls?
  8. Heating or Fans
  9. Number of People Attending
  10. Number of Children Attending
  11. Lighting
  12. Security
  13. City Permits
  14. City Ordinance
  15. Noise Restrictions
  16. Lighting and what will power the lighting (Generators)
  17. Generators (Size, Power, Fuel)
  18. Catering
If you are going to provide a catered event you will have to have an area where they can prepare the plates for service. You must talk things over with your caterer, each caterer has their requirements. Many will equip their kitchen area, however many expect you to plan it.

The set up can take hours. Know your time limits with the city and the tent rental company. Many cities will allow you to set up the tent the day before the event others will not. If they allow this plan on hiring a security guard for night protection. Public places are easily accessible by the public and therefore you will need to have protection on the property you are renting otherwise you could be liable for any damages made.

Make sure to tell your guest that the event will be outdoors and in a tent so they can dress appropriately. There is nothing worst to have to walk in high heals on grass, or sand. If the event is on sand consider allowing your guest to take off their shoes. Please wear sandals our event will be in the outdoors on sand. Or Our formal event will be hosted in a tent.

Having an event in a tent can be made very glamours or casual depending on all the extras you add to it. Floral, lighting, decor, like any event it is fun and time consuming. Consult a professional to help you with all the details and to save you time meeting with all the vendors at the site.

Victory (is this Your Business Goal)

Hi there, Reader;

I signed up for a tweet webinar today. To help me under how a business is successful using tweet. The funny thing is I thought I was successful, then I talked with a client that gets referral.

Here I am a woman who raises two young men, has planned events for non-profit businesses since college. From Galas, to fundraisers, to opening schools.
What a blessing it has been.

I supported many people through many things in life. Now the question is how to set goals for social media. What does a victory look like?

I assume that I don't assume. Is there a difference between a goal and victory. If on the way to reach the goal can one lose the victory? How does one stay in the social media game for business and achieve the victory. In advertising the goal is to figure out the return on the dollars spent.

How does this relate to tweet? How does one convert tweet advertising to dollars and under the value and return on dollars spent. Or is it that one can just spend the money with no return?

Victory is defined by

1 A clear and decisive win
2 One of three possible outcomes (lose draw)

"If you expect a kick in the nuts and get a slap in the face, its a victory"

Goal is define as:

It is a statement written down in order to achieve a state of being at a given point in time. Unfortunately, only 3% of Americans have written goals. Those that have them are typically the most successful people.

"Michael Phelps achieved his goal of 8 gold medals in the 2008 Summer Olympics."

In order to have a Victory you have to have a goal in mind, know how to measure the goal and decide if the results are victorious.

Honestly I can't wait to see how tweet teaches goal setting for businesses.

If you like this story or it brought a smile to your face then I have accomplished my goal. New Venue in Town...Del Mar

Hi there, Reader:

I am so excited about the latest invitation I got. It is a new venue that is opening up in Del Mar. It looks like it is perfect for the bride and groom, or the business who is looking for a place that is non traditional and modern.  I can't tell you all the details yet, I just got their invitation to attend their opening. As soon as I get the details I will post them.

The part I love the most is it requires event planners to be hired before an event can be planned there. Only a few of us have been invited. Therefore, making us a representative of the best. Love that! MK Pure Diamond Events Exclusive Events and Planning Services is one of the companies they asked to represent them.

Are you looking for a place that only you or your business can afford?  Give us a call. I will be posting pictures.

Venue Shopping

Hi there, Reader;

Shopping for venues is one of my favorite things to do in wedding/meeting/event planning. Why you might ask, why you might ask.  In shopping for venues one gets to see how the client will be treated. How the venue will recieve the bride, the client, the business professional.

In the case of a vineyard the event will most likely get to see the vineyard filled with plenty.

Plenty, if it is the right season the vineyard will be over flowing. Abundance, a time filled with celebrations, banquets, family gathers, friends, joyous music.  One can just visit a the venue and feel the presences of event past.
I get the pleasure of visiting the vineyard when it is bare. The pruning or prun vineyard doesn't look as inviting. The color are almost not there. They are more like shades of brown. It is still the same for the person who is shopping or tring to find the perfect place? I say not, the have to see beyond the pruning and see the hope of tomorrow.  In a sence they look into the future.  What will they see? Do they see and event filled with those they love? Do they see celebrations, do you see success?  In this venue I saw all of that, success, celebrations banquets, warm talks by the fire place, fountains of running water, when I see a well planned venue then I know I will recommend it.
This venue will have a vineyard of fullness again. I too will be hired to plan events in this venue.
I too had a season that was bare.  With belief I too can conquer what other want from me and produce  events that are worth of His praise.

Next time you're shopping for a venue consider calling MK Pure Diamond Events or visit the website: http://www.mkpurediamondevents.com and book an appointment today Give us time and we will find the right venue for what you are trying to say to your guest.
