I recently had a day off. All I wanted to do that day was read and eat. Not talk with anyone or think of anyone but just sit there think about nothing about the needs of others other than my need to just nourish and nurture myself. It sounds selfish to many people but in an industry where all one hears is the request of others, it is more than I want to carry. The trash get bigger than I can possibly carry unless I have days where the peoples needs are no longer mine.
Many people choose meditation, others prayer, and in my lifetime I have done both. Now I choose to read, paint, draw and of coarse exercise. I was reading an article in Smart Magazine. What a great book I thought. How it can apply to many places. This time it was about London. The History of London and Charles Dickens, who doesn't like reading the classics. How many people have been to London? How many people visit the queen?
How great is this that we are planning our new president and London is part of the plan. US and Europe how close are we today? None the less the article talked about how we as event planners can share the history of London with our customers, clients. This year we are celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday. What a blessing it has been to see a modern day person stay. Rule? The rule isn't ever as we think. 400 years of Shakespeare's legacy and first-ever Rolling Stone art exhibition are bound to attract even more sightseers. The famous landmarks are endless if one thinks about the book and how long ago it was written 1859. Buckingham Palace, and Gothic Westminster Abbey, among others historical sights.
What a great thrill it was to read how this year they received the 2016 Traveler's Choice Destination Award.
Planning a meeting or event? Visit a "Tale of Two Cities". Wish the Queen Happy Birthday and put history back into your life. Without history, what kind of future do our business have?
Our Hearts & Prayers to all those recently hurt at "Nice". "Red White and Blue.
