I saw this great picture. It got me thinking about how many people it take to put an event together. Yes, how many people does the average event planner would have to hire if they didn't multi-task. This is why I love it when people ask me if my hourly rate is too costly. In this the clients wants discounts, things for free, the cheapest most expensive looking event possible. One hears, I want, I need, Give me and they don't want to tell you what type of budget you are working with to get them back to reality of the budget. Do I love the business I am in yes. It is the same business I was in when I graduated from college. It is what I am trained to do. It is what my college degree is in. Would you ask you doctor for free? Then they will give you pharmaceutical samples. Do you ask your attorney for free? Then they might give you an hour of their time. They never give you the whole thing for free. I too do not give away the whole event for free.

I will email you. suggestions. I will give you a free consultation, please don't ask me to plan your whole event for free!

Event planners wear more than one hat. Our first loyalty is always to ourselves and our business. If not we are out of business. If your event planner has faith then her first loyalty is to her faith, her God and then her family and to her business. The way I run my business is private. I will never share with you my paid client unless they want the publicity. Don't ask. If you do I will make something up to entertain you. She or He pays my bills therefore they are providing for my family and I to eat, sleep, and live in safety.  That is the American Dream!

Happy Labor Day! The next time it comes along look around your workplace and see how many people your supervisor, employer is responsible for. Thank you just might be appropriate.
